The welding equipment of spot welding robots uses an integrated welding clamp, and the welding transformer is installed behind the welding clamp, so the transformer must be as small as possible. For transformers with smaller capacity, 50Hz industrial frequency AC can be used, while for transformers with larger capacity, inverter technology has begun to be used to convert 50Hz industrial frequency AC into 600-700Hz AC, so as to reduce and lighten the volume of the transformer. After the voltage is transformed, 600-700Hz AC can be used for welding directly, or it can be rectified twice and welded with DC. The welding parameters are adjusted by the timer. The new timer has been microcomputerized, so the robot control cabinet can directly control the timer without the need for an additional interface. The welding clamp of the spot welding robot usually uses a pneumatic welding clamp, and the opening degree between the two electrodes of the pneumatic welding clamp is generally only two-stage stroke. Moreover, once the electrode pressure is set, it cannot be changed at will. In recent years, a new electric servo spot welding clamp has appeared. The opening and closing of the welding clamp is driven by a servo motor, and the encoder feedback allows the opening degree of this welding clamp to be arbitrarily selected and preset according to actual needs. Moreover, the clamping force between the electrodes can also be adjusted steplessly. This new electric servo spot welding clamp has the following advantages:
1) The welding cycle of each welding point can be greatly reduced, because the opening degree of the welding clamp is precisely controlled by the robot. The robot can start to close the welding clamp while it moves between points; and after welding one point, the welding clamp is opened while the robot can move at the same time, and there is no need to wait for the robot to reach the position before closing the welding clamp or for the robot to move after the welding clamp is fully opened;
2) The opening degree of the welding clamp can be adjusted arbitrarily according to the situation of the workpiece. As long as there is no collision or interference, the opening degree can be reduced as much as possible to save the opening degree of the welding clamp and save the time occupied by opening and closing the welding clamp.
3) When the welding clamp is closed and pressurized, not only the pressure can be adjusted, but also the two electrodes are gently closed when closing to reduce impact deformation and noise.
